The Korean Cultural Center in Thailand, in collaboration with ICONSIAM, invites you to witness a world-class Taekwondo performance titled “Korean – Thai Harmony of The Friendship” in celebration of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Thailand.
Every year, on October 3rd, Korea celebrates its National Foundation Day, a significant occasion to strengthen the bonds between Korea and Thailand. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the 10th anniversary of the Korean Cultural Center in Thailand. To commemorate these milestones, the Korean Cultural Center, ICONSIAM, and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand have come together to organize this spectacular event.
Taekwondo
Taekwondo, originating from Korea, is not only a martial art but also an internationally renowned sport. Beyond physical and mental training, it aims to enhance and develop the character of individuals, especially the youth. In 1972, the Korean government established “KUKKIWON” as the central hub for registering and propagating black belt holders and Taekwondo worldwide. KUKKIWON, located in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, serves as a knowledge center for those interested in self-defense arts. Over the years, it has evolved and is now known as KUKKIWON ACADEMY, setting standards for black belt examinations and training. Graduates from this institution are recognized globally as highly qualified Taekwondo practitioners, excelling in both professional practice and competition.
In addition to the Taekwondo performance, the event promises to be a delightful fusion of Korean and Thai cultures, with musical performances by boy group THE7 (The Seven) representing both nations, PLANB, a boy group with members from Korea, Thailand, and China, and girl group Berry Berry. “Korean – Thai Harmony of The Friendship” will take place on Tuesday, October 3rd, starting at 5:00 PM at ICONSIAM’s River Park on Charoen Nakhon Road. Admission to this event is free of charge.
