The curtains rise, and the stage comes alive with a mesmerizing blend of singing and dancing, leaving an unforgettable impression. The first run of the play has garnered overwhelming acclaim from both the media and the audience, especially for its adaptation of the classic’ “มนต์รักลูกทุ่ง” (Mon Rak Luk Thung), now transformed into the spectacular musical, ‘Magical Love in the Countryside.’
Ticy City had the privilege of attending this production, and we can confidently say it’s an absolute delight.
For fans of classic dramas and films, the timeless “มนต์รักลูกทุ่ง” (Mon Rak Luk Thung) has been a household name for years. Its transition to the stage as ‘Magical Love in the Countryside: KBank Siam Pic-Ganesha has not disappointed. The response has been nothing short of impressive, with the audience singing along to familiar tunes such as ‘มนต์รักลูกทุ่ง’ (Mon Rak Luk Thung), ‘สิบหมื่น’ (Sib Meun), น้ำลงนกร้อง’ (Nam Long Nok Rong), and ‘รูปหล่อถมไป’ (Roob Lor Thom Pai). Additionally, new songs have been carefully curated to complement the theatrical experience, offering a fresh perspective on the character ‘ทองกวาว’ Thong Kwao and her journey through a ‘love spell’ like never before.
The opening scene dazzles with captivating lights, colors, and a stellar cast, including the talented Pao- Paowalee Pornpimon, making her theatrical debut and impressing with both singing and dancing skills.
The role of ‘พี่คล้าว’ (Pi Khrow) played by Touch- Kittitat Kaowuthai, a champion from the music talent show, showcases versatility by excelling in the realm of country music. The performance proves to be a delightful departure from the accustomed city tunes.
Adding vibrant energy and laughter to the production are the exceptional vocal talents from the soloists, such as Sun Vongsathorn, who takes on the character ‘แว่น’ (Wan), delivering a memorable performance. “Form- Chonpipat” follows suit with his portrayal of ‘หมู่น้อย,’ Moo Noi a close companion of the lead, earning cheers and applause from the audience.
The antagonist characters, ‘เจิด’ (Jerd) portrayed by Bank Chalermlat, and ‘สายใจ’ (Sai Jai) played by Engeay Papavaran, manage to charm the audience with their lovable villainy. Noteworthy performances also come from Yoong Chayanon and Kai Anchulee-orn in the พ่อทองก้อน’ Por Thong Kon, and ‘แม่ทองคำ,’ Mae Thong Kum respectively.
In essence, Ticy City cannot fully convey the enjoyment – it’s an experience that must be witnessed firsthand.
