For the first time, EmSphere brings the Japanese dining concept to life with a Durian Omakase, featuring six carefully selected durian varieties across 11 courses, marking the end of the durian season in the Gourmet Fruit First festival.
The Six Premium Varieties
Nok Yib Durian (Chanthaburi Province):
Known for its mild aroma, small seeds, and abundant, fine-textured flesh, this durian offers a creamy sweetness with a hint of nuttiness.
Mon Thong Pala-U Durian (Prachuap Khiri Khan Province):
This royal variety, gifted by the Princess Mother to border patrol officers to plant in Hua Hin, features thick, smooth, and slightly dry flesh with a delicate fragrance and rich, sweet flavor.
Salika Durian (Phang Nga Province):
Originating from Kapong district, this durian has golden yellow flesh with a tight, fibrous texture. Its subtle aroma and unique, slightly tangy sweetness set it apart from other varieties.
O Chee Nam Dam Durian (Yala Province):
A rare variety with distinctive orange flesh, smooth and fibrous-free, featuring a pronounced sweet and nutty taste without a strong odor.
Musang King Durian (Chanthaburi and Yala Provinces):
Originally from Malaysia, this durian is beloved for its sweet, aromatic flavor with a hint of bitterness. Grown in Thailand’s Betong and Thanto districts, it thrives in climates similar to Malaysia.
Puang Manee Durian (Chanthaburi Province):
This small, hand-sized durian has soft, yellowish-golden flesh with a fine texture. Its balanced sweetness makes it a popular choice among durian enthusiasts.
