It was pandemonium at the mall last week when Jackson Wang, affectionately known as ‘Brother Jack,’ embraced ‘Butterbear’ and unveiled his latest collection at the ‘TEAM WANG design’ pop-up.
Fans of both Jackson Wang and Butterbear packed the mall, competing in a chorus of cheers at the TEAM WANG design pop-up on the M floor of EmSphere. TEAM WANG design is a luxury streetwear brand, co-founded by Jackson Wang and Henry Cheung, based in Shanghai, China. The brand’s ethos is all about “knowing yourself and creating your own history.”
Jackson Wang brought along his team of models to showcase the newest collection, Sparkles – I See the Lights. The collection features vibrant summer shades, designed with the theme of a Summer Market, perfect for those looking to dress up for a casual market stroll.
Jackson Wang shared that this latest collection draws inspiration from the bright, lively colors of summer, with items like cotton shirts, vests, tank tops, chinos, Bermuda shorts, caps, leather slippers, and other must-haves for streetwear enthusiasts.
The collection, I See the Lights, also carries a deeper meaning of new beginnings and hope, inspired by a journey of introspection to find the light within Jackson Wang’s own mind, as reflected in the brand’s bright, happy colors. These tones symbolize joy, acceptance, freedom, and a hopeful anticipation of a bright future.
Jackson Wang also mentioned that the collection explores life’s endless challenges, like the search for love and a life woven into a grand journey. This collection is the result of a collaboration with Mobolaji Dawodu, the fashion director who has been integral to the creative vision of TEAM WANG design from the beginning.
