GPS
Ticy City invites you to explore the top-of-the-line GPS navigation system, designed especially for cyclists. Garmin has pulled out all the stops with the launch of the EDGE 1050, a premium bike computer that boasts a vibrant color display, advanced group cycling features, a built-in speaker, and long-lasting battery life. Additionally, Garmin is taking the cycling community to new heights by introducing the Garmin Cycling Club in Thailand for the first time.
The EDGE 1050 is the latest GPS bike computer, featuring a sharp, easy-to-read touchscreen display, superior navigation, performance tracking tools, and smart connectivity. It offers up to 20 hours of continuous use in high-power modes and up to 60 hours in power-saving mode. This device also enhances community connections by allowing cyclists to send and receive road hazard alerts from fellow riders, view messages during rides, and access group leaderboards.
Garmin is further strengthening the cycling community with the launch of the Garmin Cycling Club (G/C/C) in Thailand. This club is designed as a space for cyclists to discuss, exchange experiences, and share knowledge, all while inspiring each other to reach new milestones and explore longer routes. Five cyclists, each with their own unique style and approach, have been named official G/C/C Ambassadors: Frame – Thanakorn Chaiyasombat, a Thai national cycling team member competing in the 2024 Olympics; Mint – Nitcha Kanajanapirak, a performance cyclist and owner of the popular Facebook page ‘Power Crazy Woman’; Mim – Rattanaporn Klin-rose Hirun, a talented actress who has fallen in love with cycling for fitness and new experiences; Mo – Morakot Kornpipat, a content creator passionate about traveling and documenting her adventures; and Mae – Hongsapas Hongchachum, a triathlete who thrives on speed and challenges.
Ride Together – Never Stop Cycling (Together) Elevate your cycling experience with features designed to connect the community. The newly enhanced GroupRide feature allows cyclists to stay in touch with in-ride messaging, real-time location sharing, and incident detection that can alert and guide fellow riders to those in need of assistance. Cyclists can also compete with in-ride leaderboards, which rank riders based on climb data, and receive post-ride scores like Speed Rider (highest score), Chatterbox (most in-ride messages), and Worker Bee (most accumulated ride time). Cyclists will also receive road hazard alerts from fellow riders, such as potholes or fallen trees, and can send alerts to others as well. The updated GroupRide feature and hazard alerts will soon be available on EDGE 540, EDGE 840, and EDGE 1040.
What Else Is New? New Design: A 3.5-inch vibrant Liquid Crystal display with a beveled-edge design and metal buttons, and a 90-degree rotating mount that is removable. Garmin Pay: Convenient contactless payment, so cyclists can easily pay for drinks and snacks with a tap of the EDGE 1050. Built-In Speaker: Listen to alerts and voice navigation while riding, and use the bicycle bell feature to signal other riders and pedestrians. On-Device Course Creator: Easily create training courses and toggle map overlays directly on the device. Surface Type: Know the road conditions, whether paved or unpaved, and receive alerts if the upcoming route is unpaved. Ride-Specific Routing: Choose specific route types, whether mountain, gravel, or road. Map Manager with Wi-Fi: Add, switch, or update maps via Wi-Fi directly on the bike computer.
Prepare For Your Next Big Ride The EDGE 1050 is packed with advanced training tools to help cyclists achieve every goal. Garmin’s free training plans are tailored to each event, adjusting based on personal performance and recovery data. These plans offer daily workout suggestions based on training intensity and VO2 Max.
Firstbeat Analytics insights like VO2 Max, training status, and heat and altitude acclimation help cyclists assess their potential and evaluate their ability to adapt to changing external environments. Features like Cycling Ability and Course Demands allow cyclists to compare their abilities with the demands of each route, ensuring focused and effective training.
Cyclists can use Trendline Population Routing to find popular Garmin cyclist routes or preloaded Garmin Cycle Maps, which include global mountain biking trails from Trailforks. Additionally, use Pin Drop Navigation to share POIs from Apple Maps and automatically receive navigation to those locations.
Perform At Your Best The EDGE 1050 comes with premium performance metrics to help cyclists ride efficiently. Real-time Stamina tracking allows cyclists to monitor their exertion level during rides, which helps intensify training and assess how far they can maintain their pace. Power Guide processes speed, wind direction, and Stamina data to provide power management recommendations throughout the ride. ClimbPro allows cyclists to view gradient and elevation gain data on any route, whether on a training course or not, and Climb Explore provides elevation information for nearby routes, viewable on both the EDGE device and the Garmin Connect app. Additionally, Advanced Cycling Dynamics helps cyclists understand their in-depth performance metrics, including mountain biking metrics like jump count, jump distance, Grit, and Flow.
Stay Aware, Stay Connected No matter how far you ride, stay safe with features like LiveTrack and incident detection. The EDGE 1050 is also compatible with Varia bike radar and taillights, inReach satellite communication services, and Tacx smart trainers for year-round training. Customize data fields, apps, and widgets through the Connect IQ app on your smartphone.
