Exploring the Evolution of Mon Rak Luk Tung: Thong Kwao the Musical

Traveling back to the 70s, The first step into the world of stage plays brings us the legendary love story of rural simplicity, which was once famous in the past and is well-known to all, whether adapted into a drama or a film. Especially the various melodious songs that still resonate in our ears, now making their way to the stage for the first time in “Mon Rak Luk Tung: Thong Kwao the Musical.”

The presentation of the love story of Thong Kwao and her elder brother in this stage play is undoubtedly extraordinary, as it is the creation of a highly popular theatrical and musical producer, including “Homrong the Musical,” “Suntaraporn Theatre,” “Love Songs of the Motherland,” and many more. And for this rendition of “Mon Rak Luk Tung: Thong Kwao the Musical,” it will be a presentation of “love anew, unlike before.” In addition to the musical version, it gathers the most iconic and melodious songs for us to enjoy once again, taking us back to the 70s era.

Through a different perspective, we will delve into the story of a woman named “Thong Kwao” and discover what happens when she chooses to be herself. “Mon Rak Luk Thung: Thong Kwao the Musical” stars “Pao-Paowalee Phromphimol,” a highly talented artist in her stage play debut, facing the challenging role of “Thong Kwao” in this new version. However, the real highlight awaits when she meets the champion from the first season of the singing competition “That Kitti Thatchakit Kaeo-Uthai,” portraying “Klaw.” Although he has experience in stage plays, this time, it’s Thatchakit’s moment to shine as he transitions into singing Luk Thung songs, undergoing intensive training.

Following them are a group of outstanding singers from the Mic Thong Kham stage, Eak Eoi Papawarin Jirarattanakul, Bank Chalermrat, Muew Khamjeera, Aengae Pappawarinya, Panglim Rat, and Pulim Nichakan, along with a cast of talented actors, including Yoeng Cheebyeem, Kai Anuchalee Ari, and many more. They will come together to perform and present both acting and singing through this unique stage play.

The performance will take place on December 2-3, 9-11, 2023, at the KBank Siam Pic-Ganesha Theater on the 7th floor of Siam Square One. Ticket prices are 4,000 / 3,500 / 3,000 / 2,500 / 2,000, and 1,500 Baht. Tickets are on sale now through Thaiticketmajor at 02-262-3456.
