Mexican Restaurant on the 76th Floor in the Heart of Sathorn

Ojo Mexican Fusion, Vibrant Fun Dining

Ojo, a Mexican restaurant in an upscale setting, offers a culinary journey like no other. Located on the 76th floor of The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon, it provides breathtaking panoramic views of Bangkok.

The restaurant is a feast for the senses, serving a wide variety of rich and flavorful Mexican dishes crafted by award-winning chef Paco Ruano, a Mexican culinary maestro. Mexican cuisine is renowned for its bold flavors, vibrant colors, and the use of fresh ingredients, not unlike Thai cuisine.

In Thailand, Mexican restaurants are relatively scarce, making Ojo a standout addition to the dining scene. Chef Paco Ruano, known for his thick mustache and friendly demeanor, brings a unique twist to fine dining by terming it “Fun Dining.” He wants diners to relish and enjoy Mexican cuisine to the fullest, emphasizing a playful approach to food.

Ojo, which translates to “eye” in Spanish, is a reference to the watchful eyes of the divine. Inside the restaurant, you’ll find golden and pink eye-shaped decorations, often referred to as “Mexican Eyes.” The interior, designed by OBS (Ou Baholyodhin Studio), draws inspiration from the enchanting culture of central Mexico. It blends elements of European, African, and Asian cultures, highlighted by golden tones and gemstone-like accents.

Chef Paco Ruano previously opened Alcalde in Guadalajara, Mexico, in 2013. Alcalde achieved numerous accolades, including recognition in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants and The Best Chef Top 100. Ojo in Thailand is his first venture outside Mexico.

Recommended dishes include:

Ojo guacamole with corn tostadas, a delightful dip featuring Chef Paco’s secret recipe.

Aguachile with fresh tiger prawns, a zesty dish with cucumber and green chili sauce.

Coconut ceviche, a refreshing twist on the classic ceviche using tender coconut meat.

Esquites, a Mexican-style street food made with corn kernels, mayonnaise, cheese, and chili.

Chicken and green mole, a rich and flavorful sauce made with various ingredients.

The menu also offers a variety of delightful desserts, such as Arroz Con Leche (Mexican rice pudding) and Guava tres leches (guava sponge cake).

Ojo on the 76th floor of The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon, is a must-visit for those seeking an exceptional Mexican dining experience in a stunning setting. Its bold flavors, fun approach, and cultural richness make it a unique and exciting culinary destination in Bangkok.
