“Discover the Goodness of Homemade Soups at this Charming Spot!”
It might seem a bit unusual in the culinary scene, where ‘Homemade Soups’ take the spotlight as the main menu. This is because when we talk about soups, the image that often comes to mind is a side dish that accompanies a full meal, kept on the table to sip and enhance the overall dining experience. However, ‘CHA-TA’S,’ this adorable little eatery in the Ratchaphruek neighborhood, breaks away from this norm. They meticulously select high-quality ingredients, turning their soup offerings into standout meals that deliver both in taste and health benefits.

CHA-TA’S is a homemade soup-style eatery located at The Circle Ratchaphruek project. Founded by Ms. Chadha Winotai, who lived in the United States for an extended period, she decided to relocate to Thailand after the COVID-19 pandemic. The triangular layout of The Circle project perfectly matched the vision for the establishment, inspiring the idea to create a place specializing in genuine soup and breakfast offerings.

The standout feature of the soups at CHA-TA’S lies in the emphasis on high-quality, natural ingredients. Carefully selected and infused with stories and meanings, each component takes you on a journey, reflecting the experiences of the restaurant’s owner. It’s like a homecoming story, concluding with a playful twist in topping choices, allowing customization of the soups. This uniqueness extends to their ‘Cool Soups’ menu, offering flavors that are not easily found elsewhere.

Recommended dishes to try include The New Cool No.1: Pumpkin Soup blended with lentil soup, topped with potato bows and marinated pepper salt chicken. It offers a basic, easy-to-enjoy flavor, perfect for a fresh start. Alternatively, you might want to explore The New Cool No.2: Lentil Soup mixed with tomato soup, topped with health-boosting herbal mushrooms and creamy chicken. It provides a familiar and rich taste. Lastly, there’s The New Cool No.3: Creamy Shrimp Soup, a delightful combination of pumpkin soup, adorned with adorable two-tone potatoes and garlic butter sautéed shrimp, offering a fragrant and sweet experience.

Or, for those who have an affinity for pure pumpkin soup, don’t miss out on ‘Late October.’ This blend brings together Thai and Japanese pumpkins, roasted with fresh herbs, drizzled with sesame oil. The flesh is then turned into a soup, mixed with self-prepared vegetable stock. The secret ingredient of the restaurant transforms it into a soft, velvety sweet soup without the need for flour and sugar, making it a healthy option. Another delightful choice is the ‘Happy Hour’ – a truffle mushroom soup featuring a rare and hard-to-find mushroom variety. Presented in a soup format, it allows for customizable toppings according to your liking. And for corn lovers, you must try ‘Bliss’ – a sweet corn soup that’s easy to savor, light on the palate, and pairs well with other items on the menu.

Alternatively, if you have a craving for bread, Ticy City recommend the Grilled Cheese Joey (Pouch) No.2 Funghi. It boasts a crispy exterior, aromatic herbs, and is generously filled with delightful cheese, crafted to be inserted into your bag to maintain its warmth for an extended period. Hence, the dish and its name, Grilled Cheese Joey (Pouch), offer a diverse array of fillings. Especially noteworthy is the JOEY NO. 2 Funghi, combining the rich aroma and well-rounded flavor of shiitake and oyster mushrooms, along with selected herbs and a variety of cheeses.

In addition, CHA-TA’S offers other intriguing menu items such as The Hype – a chicken bean salad topped with pepperoni, drizzled with sesame oil and Parmesan dressing. There’s also TEX-MEX – a Mexican chicken salad with a sauce of smoky Caesar dressing, served with a side of sourdough toast and Pot Luck butter. The menu further includes made-to-order fresh salads with a variety of vegetables and fruits, as well as a honey-infused flat white coffee. The espresso blends hail from a mix of coffee beans sourced from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Ethiopia.

Despite being a small establishment, CHA-TA’S is not small in its appeal, especially with its delectable soup and breakfast options that promise to energize your mornings. Offering a delightful freshness, it’s a perfect companion for your entire day. If you’re in the Ratchaphruek area or passing by, it’s highly recommended to give it a try. Customers can also enjoy takeaway for breakfast, as the restaurant provides.
