Nestled on the shores of Koh Samui, House of Lucie is emerging as the island’s premier contemporary art destination. Designed as a dynamic space for both local and international artists, this newly launched hub celebrates creativity across multiple disciplines, including photography, design, painting, and sculpture.

At its core, House of Lucie is more than just a gallery; it is an extension of the Lucie Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to uplifting talented photographers worldwide. Since its inception in 2003, the foundation has been a driving force behind the prestigious Lucie Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions to photography. Now, founders Hossein and Apple Farmani, visionaries in the photography and design world, have brought their passion to Samui—establishing not only House of Lucie Samui but also laying the groundwork for an art center unlike any other in Thailand.
A Creative Sanctuary for Artists and Art Enthusiasts
More than just an exhibition space, House of Lucie Samui is a living, breathing art hub, designed to connect artists with the local community and international audiences. It is a place where creative minds can meet, exchange ideas, and showcase their work in an inspiring environment.
From cutting-edge contemporary photography to timeless fine art prints, the gallery features an ever-evolving lineup of global and local talent. Visitors can expect a mix of curated exhibitions, artist talks, interactive workshops, and hands-on art classes in painting, sculpture, ceramics, and jewelry making.
Hossein Farmani describes the vision best:
“We want photography and visual storytelling to be more accessible. House of Lucie is not just a gallery—it is a place where people can experience the power of art, find inspiration, and celebrate creative voices. Our dream is to turn Samui into a cultural hub where art thrives.”
Apple Farmani adds:
“While House of Lucie has spaces in Athens, Budapest, Kazan, Hostun, Norway, and France—this is the first time we are launching a full-fledged art center. And Samui is the perfect place for it.”
The Grand Opening: Three Iconic Artists Take Center Stage
To mark its debut, House of Lucie Samui is hosting an exclusive exhibition featuring three visionary artists.
Steve McCurry – “ISLANDS”
A master of storytelling through imagery, Steve McCurry has spent over five decades capturing moments that define the human experience. His latest series, ISLANDS, offers a breathtaking glimpse into island cultures worldwide, preserving their traditions, lifestyles, and beauty through his signature lens. Best known for his haunting portrait Afghan Girl, McCurry has earned global recognition, including the Robert Capa Gold Medal and the Centenary Medal for Lifetime Achievement from the Royal Photographic Society.
James Nachtwey – The Lens of Truth
A legend in war and documentary photography, James Nachtwey has dedicated his career to capturing the raw realities of global conflicts and social issues. His gripping imagery, published in TIME magazine and beyond, has earned him numerous accolades, including the Martin Luther King Award and the Lucie Award.
Kitikong Tilokwattanotai – Language in Art
Blurring the lines between words and visual storytelling, Kitikong Tilokwattanotai transforms letters and symbols into powerful abstract compositions. Originally from Lampang and now based in Chiang Mai, his work has been exhibited worldwide, from Germany and Japan to the United States and Australia.
