The high-end steakhouse from New York, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, founded by Mr. Peter Zwiener, Chairman and Co-Founder, has officially launched its 40th global branch at “One Bangkok.”
Peter Zwiener, the founder’s direct descendant, shared:
“The restaurant is named after my father, Wolfgang Zwiener, and focuses on premium ingredients like USDA Prime beef sourced directly from certified farms, fresh Maine lobsters, and locally sourced seafood and fish.”
The first Wolfgang’s Steakhouse opened on 4 Park Avenue in 2004. Before that, Wolfgang Zwiener Sr., a German immigrant, worked at the renowned Peter Luger Steakhouse in Brooklyn. Peter reminisced about his childhood, where he often roamed the area, dreaming of owning a steakhouse someday.
After Wolfgang married and had two children, including Peter (named after Peter Luger), the family decided to open their own steakhouse. Before joining the business full-time, Peter worked in banking but eventually took the helm of the family steakhouse.
Today, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse has expanded across several countries, with locations in prime areas of the U.S. like Times Square, Park Avenue, Midtown East, Broadway, Somerville, New Jersey, and Hawaii. International branches include cities in Japan (Osaka, Fukuoka, Aoyama, Marunouchi), Manila in the Philippines, Beijing, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Singapore.
In Thailand, the co-founders include Mr. Peter Zwiener, Mr. Prasert Laorpuntphan, and Mr. Sohei Urakami. The kitchen is helmed by Chef Kenny – Nattawat Ariyavisutthichai, who highlights classic New York dishes such as Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Wolfgang’s Crab Cake with tartar sauce, Beverly Hills Chopped Salad, Sizzling Bacon, and Lobster Bisque made with succulent Maine lobster.
The menu’s star is the Porterhouse Steak, crafted from USDA Prime beef aged for 28 days and served with sides like German potatoes and creamed spinach. A unique touch of the restaurant is the signature “Sizzling” call made by servers as they bring hot dishes to the table, warning guests about the hot plates.
Desserts include New York Style Cheesecake, served with rich slag whipped cream, along with a variety of other options like Wolfgang’s Salad, Seafood Platter, Chocolate Mousse, Apple Strudel A La Mode (featuring filo pastry-wrapped apples baked to a crisp), Pecan Pie, and the Classic Hot Fudge Sundae.
The restaurant exudes a classic New York steakhouse ambiance, reminiscent of scenes from “The Godfather,” adorned with historical photos capturing the era of early New York steakhouses in 1912. The venue also features outdoor seating, a whiskey bar counter, and a wine cellar with selections from around the world.
Opening Hours: 5:00 PM – 11:30 PM, with plans to add lunch service soon.
