THE ARIEL: Contemporary Living in London

Residences

Ticy City invites you to fly to the United Kingdom to admire the beauty of residences in the heart of the landmark that used to be the BBC headquarters in White City, West London, with the project THE ARIEL, a new era of contemporary living in London.

The Television Centre has announced the launch of Phase 2, The Ariel, a 23-story residential building in the heart of the former BBC headquarters landmark in White City, West London. Developed by Mitsui Fudosan UK, it will open on August 19, 2024, with a launch event in Thailand on September 13–14, 2024, at the Park Hyatt Hotel, Central Embassy, Bangkok.

The Ariel is a 23-story building offering unobstructed views in all directions. It was designed by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM), a group of architects who have received the RIBA Stirling Prize.

The project comprises 167 private units, including studios and 1-3 bedroom apartments. Prices start at £595,000 (27,768,650 THB) for a studio apartment and go up to over £6 million (280 million THB) for a penthouse. The interior design is handled by MSMR and Tatjana von Stein, a highly sought-after interior designer in the residential design industry.

The Television Centre is a redevelopment of the former BBC headquarters in West London. The first phase created 432 units, with the area housing the UK headquarters of Publicis Group, The White Company, PVH Group, Soho Works, and White City House under the Soho House group, along with a 45-room boutique hotel.

Despite the BBC’s relocation, the area continues to host BBC Studioworks, with three studios. The Television Centre is at the center of a comprehensive redevelopment of White City, a £8 billion investment over ten years, transforming it into a hub for activities, creativity, and academia in West London. The area is thriving, with new shops, restaurants, schools, and 5,000 new homes, along with 2 million square feet of office space and 20,000 new jobs.

Apart from the prime location within a creative and thriving environment for television production by BBC and ITV, there are 10 restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Endo at the Rotunda, the world-renowned Soho House members club, Electric Cinema, and a 45-room boutique hotel, surrounded by 500,000 square feet (50,000 square meters) of office space. The offices are home to media giants like BBC Worldwide and Publicis Group, famous fashion brands like Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and Net-a-Porter, and leaders in beauty and health like L’Oreal and Novartis.

Opposite the project is Westfield London, the UK’s top and Europe’s largest shopping mall, featuring luxury brands like Gucci, Burberry, Tiffany, Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Jimmy Choo, enhancing the living experience at The Ariel by offering residents unparalleled shopping, entertainment, and dining experiences.

The location is also close to top educational institutions like Imperial College (ranked 2nd globally by QS World University Rankings 2025) and the Royal College of Art, making The Ariel an ideal place for students, families, and professionals. These prestigious institutions are within walking distance, providing world-class education and research opportunities to residents. Over the past 10 years, the number of Thai students studying in London has grown by an average of 12% per year. In 2022, 32,000 students traveled abroad, with 17%, or 5,405, enrolling in the UK, according to UNESCO’s 2023 report by Acumen, showing a continuous increase compared to 28,609 outbound higher education students in 2021.

Moreover, the British Council reported in November 2022 that the UK remains a top destination for Thai students, with over 7,000 enrolled in higher education institutions. This is why Ariel chose Thailand for its first launch event in Southeast Asia.

The Ariel is located in affluent West London, adjacent to high-value areas like Notting Hill and Holland Park. It has excellent transport links, being near three underground and overground stations, providing access to Bond Street and Oxford Circus within 15 minutes, and the city center within 25 minutes (source: TfL). The area is also conveniently positioned for easy access to Heathrow Airport.

Peter Allen, Sales and Marketing Director and Development Manager at Stanhope PLC, added:

“In addition to being in a private and secure area, residents will benefit from many special amenities, including a 24-hour concierge, a co-working space, a wellness suite with a Pilates reformer, yoga, and a personal training studio. The 8th floor features a lounge and bar, meeting rooms, and private dining rooms with 24-hour security. Buyers can also access the gym and swimming pool within the project managed by Soho House.”

The Ariel Phase 2 represents the next chapter of the Television Centre, with project completion expected in spring 2027, amidst a positively developing UK economy, presenting a great investment opportunity at this critical time.
