The Thailand Philatelic Collectors Association, under the royal patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, invites you to an exclusive event: the World Stamp Championship Exhibition (WSC) (THAILAND 2023). Explore over 500 unique stamp works from 60 countries, with stamp sales and collectibles available from various national postal services and over 60 international booths. Surajit Kongwatana, Advisory Chariman The Philatelic Association of Thailand under the Patronage of HRH hared, “The celebration of the 140th anniversary of Thai postage and the World Stamp Championship Exhibition 2566 is a prestigious global event that Thailand has been honored to host continuously since 1983, in the years 1983, 1993, 2003, 2013, and now in 2023.”
The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) also supports this event, emphasizing its global significance. Surajit Kongwatana added, “This exhibition, coupled with the stamp competition, serves as an index of philatelic enthusiasts’ happiness worldwide. It demonstrates Thailand’s potential economically, as well as in tourism, culinary arts, culture, traditions, and the unique identity of the Thai people. The exhibition also highlights our country’s trustworthiness in safety and various services, expecting over 5,000 local and international visitors during the 6-day event.”
Visitors will have the opportunity to admire stamp collections from more than 60 countries, showcasing over 500 works and approximately 2,500 frames. Highlights include the world’s most expensive stamp, the British Guiana 1C Magenta, valued at 300 million Baht, and Asia’s most expensive stamp, the 500 Mon Center Inverted from Japan, valued at 200 million Baht.
Furthermore, the exhibition features a rare display of the first set of Thai stamps, the Soralth Set, brought from the valuable archives of the country. A unique aspect of this event is the exclusive exhibition of royal memorabilia from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, which has never been showcased before.
The importance of the World Stamp Exhibition extends beyond the cultural realm, impacting the economic landscape by fostering growth in the collector community through buying and auction activities. Stamp collectors worldwide participate in auctions hosted by major global auction houses trusted by collectors, such as Stanley Gibbons, David Feldman, Spink, Stack’s & Bowers, Aurifil Collection, PMG, PCGS, and NCS.
The event also provides a platform for more than 10 countries to sell stamps and commemorative items. Additionally, special postmarking services are offered, representing countries like Japan, France, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, and more. This is a unique opportunity for collectors to meet, converse, exchange, and engage in transactions related to stamps and various collectibles.
