Experience a culinary journey like never before at Thailand Rice Fest 2023, brought to you by Central Tham. This special event showcases the diversity of Thai rice with a focus on 11 native rice varieties sourced from 9 communities spanning 7 provinces. Held at the prestigious Sirikit National Convention Center until December 17, 2023, this festival not only invites you to savor the unique ‘Khao Thai Omakase’ menu curated by Chef Black from Blackitch Artisan Kitchen but also aims to promote sustainable rice cultivation and empower local communities.

Central Tham, in its commitment to sustainability, is actively involved in the development and preservation of over 11 indigenous rice varieties, benefiting more than 9 communities across the nation. By increasing awareness and creating economic opportunities, the project seeks to elevate Thai rice to meet consumer demands while simultaneously boosting the income of farmers and contributing to environmental conservation.

According to Mr. Pichai Chirathivat,  Executive Director at Central Group Co. Ltd., Thailand Rice Fest 2023 aligns with the concept of ‘Good Rice, Good Life,’ urging everyone to support local rice varieties. Recognizing the health benefits of rice and its significance as Thailand’s top agricultural product, the festival promotes collaboration in rice cultivation, a tradition passed down through generations.

Central Tham’s initiative extends beyond the festival, actively participating in the revival of native rice strains and guiding farmers towards cultivating quality rice. This year, more than 11 rice varieties from 9 communities across 7 provinces are showcased, each distinguished by unique flavors and characteristics. Central Tham also proudly supports the Thai Rice Omakase initiative, fostering the growth of indigenous rice varieties.

The festival is divided into five zones:

  • Good Rice Market: Featuring the best of the 11 rice varieties from 7 provinces, including specialties like ‘Khao Rai Dok Ka,’ ‘Khao Bao Yao Muang Sri,’ and ‘Khao Niew San Pa Tong.’
