MaiMai Eatery – The Legendary Boat Noodles, Now Open in Soi Ari

Let’s Enjoy the Timeless Delight of Boat Noodles in Soi Ari

Discover the rich history of MaiMai Eatery, previously known as “Le Jardin,” as it relocates from Peninsula Plaza to Soi Ari. Now nestled in Soi Ari, MaiMai Eatery keeps alive the legacy of the renowned “Boat Noodles of Hi-So,” originating from its early days in Phahonyothin.

The Journey Begins: Le Jardin’s French Flair

Originally named Le Jardin, this eatery added a French touch, importing numerous products from France. Established in 1985, it earned the moniker “Boat Noodles of Hi-So,” capturing the spirit of an era when Peninsula Plaza shoppers sought solace in boat noodles.

Khun Sukanya Janchoo, the Mastermind Behind Tradition

Manager, Sukanya Janchoo fondly recalls the roots of this boat noodle legend. In the past, satisfying boat noodle cravings meant a lengthy drive out of town. Le Jardin emerged at Peninsula Plaza, using top-notch ingredients and focusing on hygiene by refining traditional recipes.

During that era, boat noodles in Rangsit cost 15-20 Baht per bowl. After moving to Peninsula Plaza, prices began at 80 Baht, featuring an authentic Ayutthaya recipe with a rich bone broth, aromatic herbs, and a special touch of fresh coconut milk for a harmonious blend of sour, sweet, and spicy flavors.

Diverse Meat Choices for Authentic Boat Noodles

MaiMai Eatery embodies the essence of Hi-So boat noodles by offering various meat options, including beef tripe, pork sirloin, pork Kurobuta, and Australian ribeye.

From Le Jardin to MaiMai: A Family Transition

Boat noodles have been a long standing favorite. The original establishment was founded by Khun Mai – Sunong Salirathavibhaga, who later handed over the reins to her daughter, Khun Mint – Chalita Salirathavibhaga.  Upon taking charge, Khun Mint managed the Peninsula Plaza branch and decided to change the name to “MaiMai” after her mother’s nickname.
