This year’s J-licious Vegetarian Festival at Sooksiam, ICONSIAM, brings together a wide array of must-try dishes from top restaurants, offering a delightful mix of flavors that let you eat well, do good, and nourish your soul. Visitors are also invited to pay their respects to Bodhisattva Guan Yin and enjoy captivating Thai-Chinese cultural performances.
Under the theme Full of Merit, Full of Vegetarian Delights from Four Regions, Sooksiam has curated a collection of famous vegetarian dishes from across the country. Expect special collaborations, like the one with Real Thai Coconut, offering a feast of savory dishes, desserts, and drinks.
Highlights include fragrant baked taro rice, stir-fried vegetarian noodles, braised mock duck, mixed vegetable stew, braised cabbage with shiitake mushrooms, stir-fried Hong Kong kale with vegetarian abalone, green curry with tofu and young coconut, and more. Partner restaurants, including Hua Seng Hong, are also serving up treats like crispy vegetarian ‘pork,’ plant-based fried larb, and stir-fried noodles.
Vegetarian coffee from Lung Ngern Cafe Mor Din, a favorite from Chiang Mai, alongside mocktails and fresh fruit beverages, add a refreshing touch. Plus, when you spend 300 THB on vegetarian dishes, you can spin the prize wheel for a chance to win special gifts.
To mark this season of spiritual cleansing, Sooksiam has enshrined the revered Thousand-Hand Bodhisattva Guan Yin, known for her boundless compassion and protection. You can pay homage at the Suksuwan Pavilion on the G Floor of ICONSIAM, while enjoying traditional Thai-Chinese cultural performances like guzheng music and mask-changing shows.
Sooksiam has also partnered with local businesses to give back to the community by offering 100 vegetarian meal boxes daily to nearby hospitals and Khlong San district communities through the Vegetarian Charity Pot initiative.
Popular restaurants are putting a creative spin on vegetarian dishes. Coffee Beans by Dao presents OmniMeat-based dishes like tofu skin stew and OmniMeat stir-fried with long beans. Other notable offerings include vegetarian meals at Greyhound Café, Tasty Congee & Noodle, and Jumbo Seafood, plus sweet and savory delights from BRIX Dessert Bar, Chongdee Teahouse, and Swensen’s.
If you’re an ONESIAM member, don’t miss the HUNGER HUNTER campaign, where you can collect receipts from participating restaurants and earn a 100 THB SIAM GIFT CARD when you spend 1,000 THB or more. This promotion runs until October 31, 2024.
