Courtyard by Marriott Phuket Town is embracing the rich tradition of Thailand’s Vegetarian Festival, one of the country’s most vibrant cultural events, taking place this October 2024.
Ticy City invites both Phuket locals and hotel guests to take part in the festivities from October 3 to 11, 2024. The celebration will feature parades and deity worship, with rituals performed over 9 days and nights throughout Phuket. During the entire festival, Courtyard by Marriott Phuket Town will be serving a variety of vegetarian dishes.
Each morning from October 3 to 10, starting at 6:00 AM, and on the final evening, October 11, from 8:00 PM onwards, guests can set up tables to welcome the gods while enjoying the procession as it passes by Surin Circle Clock Tower and the hotel entrance.
The “God-Welcoming” table set includes fresh fruit, candies, peanut brittle, steamed sponge cakes, and 1,000 firecrackers—symbolizing prosperity and good fortune. Each set also comes with candles, incense, and flowers, priced at 9,888 THB per table. Reservations can be made until October 10, 2024.
At Yue Restaurant & Bar, guests can enjoy more than 20 vegetarian dishes, such as Sichuan-style black and white fungus salad, stir-fried tofu with Chinese chili paste, sautéed spinach with shimeji mushrooms and bell peppers, and steamed milk custard. Prices start at 160++ THB.
There are also three Chinese set menus to choose from, featuring dishes like Hong Kong kale with abalone sauce and stir-fried tofu with Yue-style Chinese chili paste, served with jasmine rice. Set menus start at 399 THB.
On the final day of the festival, indulge in light vegetarian bites for just 100 THB, including stuffed chicken wings with shiitake mushrooms and golden shrimp purses, while watching the closing parade right in front of the hotel on October 11.
