Tropical Fiesta at Siam Tea Room

Durian, Sala, and Mangosteen in Thai Cuisine

Thai fruits are featured in various Thai dishes, showcasing the ingenuity in ingredient adaptation. This year, before the season ends, Siam Tea Room presents the “Tropical Fiesta” throughout July, featuring durian and other summer fruits.

Ticy City invites you to enjoy Thai dishes with durian, mangosteen, pineapple, sala, rambutan, lychee, etc., at Siam Tea Room, located in Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park and its Asiatique branch.

Chef Aoi – Supatra Kamai introduces 8 special dishes to celebrate the end of the summer fruit season:

  1. Durian and Mangosteen Salad with Fresh Shrimp: Crisp Mon Thong durian paired with tender mangosteen, dressed in a rich salad sauce.
  2. Roasted Duck Red Curry: Featuring summer fruits like lychee, rambutan, longan, pineapple, and grapes, with the rich curry sauce soaking into the roasted duck breast.
  3. Pork Curry with Cha Muang Leaves: A unique dish from the Eastern region, featuring the sour Cha Muang leaves cooked with pork belly and homemade curry paste, simmered for 2 hours.
  4. Grouper Soup with Sala: Using Neen Wong sala from Chanthaburi, this sweet and sour fruit enhances the soup’s flavor, paired with firm grouper.
  5. Massaman Curry with Durian and Beef Cheek: A signature dish of Siam Tea Room, enhanced with soft-textured durian from Rayong and lotus seeds instead of peanuts.
  6. Grilled Jan-Lorn with Achar Sauce: A renowned snack from Chonburi, made from fresh fish paste mixed with coconut, grilled and served with Achar sauce.
  7. Spicy Chicken Soup with Kra Wan Shoots: An Eastern traditional recipe using spicy Kra Wan shoots from Soi Dao district, cooked with free-range chicken in a clear soup.
  8. Eastern-style Seafood Stir-fry: Featuring shrimp, squid, and fish, stir-fried with garlic, scallions, and red chili, served with hot rice.
